What does Volca actually do?
Volca is the financial intelligence layer for home services. We connect to ServiceTitan and your accounting stack to automate the work that lives between the field and finance: commission and performance pay, payroll prep, and vendor invoice job costing.
Who is Volca built for?
HVAC, plumbing, and electrical operators running ServiceTitan, typically from 10 to 200+ field technicians. Single-shop owners, multi-location franchises, and private-equity-backed roll-ups all use Volca.
Do we have to switch payroll providers?
No. Volca sits on top of ServiceTitan and exports clean files into whatever payroll system you already use: ADP, Paychex, Gusto, Paylocity, QuickBooks, and others. Nothing changes for your techs or your processor.
How is Volca different from a bookkeeper?
Bookkeepers move data, they don't audit the math. Volca runs the calculations the way you designed them, every cycle, and flags anything that looks off before payroll goes out.
Onboarding
How long does it take to get live?
Most shops are running production payroll on Volca within 14 to 28 days. We handle the heavy lifting: pulling your pay plan, mapping ServiceTitan data, and validating against your last few payroll cycles side-by-side.
Do you train our team?
Yes. Your payroll admin, GM, and ops lead all get hands-on training before go-live, and we run the first one or two cycles alongside you. Slack/text access to our team continues after launch.
Will our pay plan need to change?
Almost never. Volca was built to handle layered, sophisticated plans: GP-margin commissions, tiered bands, pricebook-derived spiffs, helper splits, callback deductions. If your plan runs in your head or on a spreadsheet today, it runs in Volca tomorrow.
What do we need to bring to onboarding?
Your current pay plan document (or a verbal walkthrough, we've heard them all), recent payroll exports for validation, and a ServiceTitan login. That's it. No data migration, no template wrangling.

Does Volca actually run payroll?
Volca calculates and audits payroll, then exports a clean, validated file to your processor (ADP, Paychex, QuickBooks, etc). Your processor still cuts the checks. You get the speed and accuracy without changing what already works.
What about spiffs and bonuses?
All of it. Commissions, performance pay, spiffs, bonuses, draws, deductions, helper splits, callbacks. All calculated per tech, per cycle, with a line-item statement they can approve or dispute before payroll runs.
How accurate is it?
Volca recalculates from the ServiceTitan source every cycle, so there's no copy-paste drift. Across our customer base we've caught $250K+ in pay errors that would have gone out the door on spreadsheets.
What if a tech disputes their pay?
